How it is Designed Print E-mail

This course is designed to be accessible and affordable to anyone truly interested in gaining a basic level of professional wine knowledge.

The curriculum is designed for 14 weeks of intensive studying and homework with quizzes at the end of each section. (Of course, life can interfere, so you have two years from the time you sign up for this course to complete it with no additional course fees.) As you complete each section with 75% or more correct, you can move into the next section. Sections are divided by basic concepts, production methods, and regions. There are two practice final exams given in the review section. The final exam must also be completed with 75% or more to earn your certificate. Re-takes are available (with different final exams) for those who don't earn the certificate on the first final exam.

Wine Training Online now has two knowledge levels available: the 'Basic Service Level' and the 'Industry Professional Level.' These courses will guide the beginner with little wine knowledge and those with moderate knowledge up to the basic level considered necessary for wine professionals. (See the difference between the two course levels below.) It does not supply the reference materials. There are too many great reference tools available. You are highly encouraged to buy or borrow at least two current edition wine books. This list of recommended books is based on our experience training hundreds of students in live classrooms, though your own reading style preference should also be considered. The more you enjoy it, the better success you will have with the course.
